I don’t think Arkansas has the stroke to obtain the services of a top-notch established head coach with impressive credentials. Our best shot at a realistic upgrade would likely be a relatively young up-and-coming coach with a proven track record for over-achieving; - - someone like Matt Campbell, for instance.

I 100% believe we won’t get a “Big Name”, but we may get a HR hire. I just don’t think people realize who is the “future.” I hope we get him.
Absolutely correct … and I think it’s the wrong direction. We need a coach who is looking for his big shot and is hungry to succeed. I think the biggest name we should even consider is Charlie Strong and that’s not a big name. (I would call Gus Malzahn and see if he had any interest in coming home.)
I’m with a lot of others on hiring an up and coming coach like Scott Frost, Chad Morris, Matt Campbell, or the less exciting to me Mike Norvell or Frank Wilson. I also think Brent Venables would be a great hire from the coordinator ranks.
I DO NOT want to see Lane Kiffin, Mike Leach, or Les Miles. Also not on my radar are the pipe dreams of Gruden or Kelly and even if we did hire them the expectations would be so unrealistic that they couldn’t be successful unless they immediately outrecruited Alabama and everyone else to get 4 year starters.
No, I don’t wonder. We have seen his offense. How in the world does he deserve the HC position. That’s one of the most crazy posts I have ever seen. This shouldn’t be a job like Univ. of Akron where we try and see if a coach can do it. We need a proven coach with a great track record. I think we should go get Strong.
Need someone who has ties to the area and can recruit neighboring states as well as Florida. There are plenty of those guys out there.
Got to get top players from Texas, especially Houston and Dallas area, Tulsa, Memphis, north Louisiana, as well as Missouri and Kansas.
And must be able to keep top Arkansas talent at home.
If you want someone with a proven track record why would you consider charlie strong? He sucks.

If we do make a change (and I am not convinced we will) here is a name I haven’t seen mentioned yet. Neal Brown at Troy. He is young 37, comes from a great coaching tree…played for Mike Leach and James Franklin…coached under Blakney at Troy, Tubberville at Texas tech, Stoops at Kentucky. His Troy teams have an exciting offense and the best defense in their conference…oh and Troy beat LSU this year.
Best to wait until the season is over and make sure we need a coach. Right now we have one, this topic may be better suited on Florida, A&M and Tennessee web sites,pretty sure they are one step closer to needing that question answered. We should have a couple week reprieve from this issue and possibly longer, for now I’ll savor yesterday’s victory for a little while longer. Go Hogs! WPS
Oh, we need one; but I am not sure that we will get one. Although I really don’t see how we don’t. Our fan base is really fractured right now, and getting worse nearly every week. Seems like a real sense of apathy with people trying to unload Razorback tickets on the cheap and empty seats at the games. I think a lot of fans have been turned off by the product on the field and it will be nearly impossible to get them back while the coach remains the same. JMO
