20 Plus Point Game Tomorrow

CMA did a great job of coaching tonight. Guys played hard and made some mistakes at the end that were costly, but the refs really showed their true colors. Two very bad calls at the end that changed the game.

Agreed, the refs did what makes the NCAA and all big money sports hard to watch, they protected the cash cow.

Yes, NC is loaded with talent, but don’t underestimate what we’ve got. Guys like Macon and Barford could play for anybody, I think. In fact, Macon might have been the best player on the floor tonight. We need more size. NC’s size killed us. So many offensive rebounds given up. I hate to see our seniors go, but we’ve got some good ones coming in, and the guys returning will be better. I wouldn’t be surprised if CJ Jones shows us what he can do next year. All word is that he’s a special talent, but just doesn’t know the game well enough yet.

I hate to be a cynic, but it certainly appeared that way.

I usually don’t agree with Skip Bayless but UNC most definitely got a program call there at end. Total crap.
Great effort from our guys though. WPS

The comment about Macon rang true and really gives me a lot of hope for next season! I also believe next year’s team will be even better. The ones coming in {Khalil Garland, 6’4", 180, Shooting guard; Darious Hall, 6’6" 210, Athletic swing Forward; Daniel Gafford, 6’10", 220, Athletic center} are athletic along with 6-5 CJ Jones and 6-8 Adrio Bailey having another year of experience.

The '93 Hogs battled Carolina in the same fashion, came back very hungry, not to be denied and went on to the Final Four in '94. I see the same mentality with these players coming back.

are you Michael from Stuttgart

or

Tiger Bait?

He’s a longtime troll here, makes things unpleasant for all. Knowledgeable criticism is welcome, but not non-stop trolling.

Don’t think he is Tiger bait, not sure about Michael from Stuttgart

Agreed. I’m looking forward to next season. I think we’ll get super guard play from Macon, Barford, Beard, and, hopefully, CJ Jones. The biggest question mark, I think, is will Gafford be ready to step into Kingsley’s shoes right away. I fear he might be a little raw at first.

Why? Why do you even come here and comment? I know you aren’t really a fan and you just like to try to upset the fan base, but is your life that pathetic that you see everything as a disaster waiting to happen?

Everyone’s correct that the officials took a prominent role in the demise of the Razorbacks. Two things people haven’t mentioned was the second 3 point attempt that Macon was fouled on that they did call which was VERY obvious and the fact that Arkansas shot only 8 FT’s to NC’s 25. RIDICULOUS!!!

But let’s also not neglect the fact that in the last minute, Kingsley missed two FT’s to cut the lead to 1. We fouled after the second miss, the NC player missed his one and one, we could tie the game and Beard missed the tying 3. So we had our chances and it is what it is.

I have great respect for Kingsley and Beard. Beard especially had a pretty good game. But I do question why Beard was the one who took the tying shot. Yes, he had made two 3’s early in the game, but our two best shooters were on the floor and they didn’t get a look. I don’t reject that Beard took the shot, but that our primary shooters, especially Macon, didn’t get a look.

Still, I’m so proud of our young men. Thank you to Kingsley, Watkins, and Hannahs. All of you represented well for our school and state!

Because the other two weren’t in a position to take the shot, and Beard had a very good look. He just missed it, happens.

I understand that, but he didn’t even give them a look. After the shot was missed, there was 10 seconds left in the game. Meaning, he probably took the shot with 13 seconds. When you’re trying to tie: A. You want to use a little more time and B. you would want to at least try to get it to the hot hand, which was Macon. Again, I don’t fault Beard for taking the shot, I just don’t know why it was rushed and he didn’t look for any of our other shooters.

the 2 things that cost the hogs most down the stretch were officiating and execution. the 2 most egregious no calls were the charge not called on NC before the tip in and Macon’s 3 pointer where it should of been a foul or at least out of bounds on them. granted, i know there was only 1 second on shot clock but we’ve seen Hannahs hit off balance jumpers on out of bounds plays with little time on SC. at least it would of given us a shot instead of nothing. as for execution down stretch, on defense we looked sound, but offense it looked like nobody wanted to be the hero. the best shot we got down stretch came off a drive to basket and kick out for 15ft jumper when we were up 1, however the bad thing was that it was Bailey taking the shot. not saying he cant make that, but he’s a little used freshman not known for his offensive prowess. i think he should of been out there because he was doing great on D. was just bad luck he was in that spot and not a better shooter. next year he’ll knock down that shot for sure.

back to the refs, as reference before, a 25 to 8 difference in free throws is not explainable. we foul alot, but we didnt get in bonus the whole game and NC doesnt play daintily. if we had just shot 8 more free throws its a different game. nothing we can do bout it now, but let it fuel us for next yr. here’s praying everybody who can, comes back for deep run. could have a tremendous backcourt duo with Macon n Barford. WPS

It’s hard to play 5 against 8 on the floor.
There’s another play no one is taking about. Shot clock violation Manny did get the shot off before 0.
Proud of the fight and heart our hogs showed and looking forward to next year!

It’s baseball season and spring football.

WPS! Can hardly wait for top off next fall for our Razorbacks basketball team !

Yes, but it didn’t draw iron, so it didn’t count.

You sure called that from the beginning.

Beard was wide open - the first person to be open in the final three minutes.

It was a good shot.

He had hit 2 of 3 3-pointers to that point.

Every ex-player (Bradley, Kleine plus TV talking heads) said exactly what you said. In flow of the game and in rhythm.
