The Big Rivalry Yawn Game Thread

Totally fake, made up rivalry ‘dude’

Well apparently Bielema new how bad this team was because he told everyone before the season, “I know this team.” Unfortunately he was blowing smoke in our face because the OL sucked early and the defense sucked all year.

This years team had no emotion and no discipline. I’ve seen this before in my long life when players don’t believe in their coaching. When game after game you’re not improving a player won’t blame themselves but rather blame their coach. Combine bad coaching with average talent and you get the 2016 Razorbacks!

Be careful, some of these sensitive wimps may start whining again. Our defense clearly sucks (sorry sensitives for the harsh language). We really have no positive path forward with these coaches (hope you little guys dry those eyes). Night night little guys.

Out coached with fake punts out of the endzone. Hey, when you are 3-8, give anything a try. Too much wild innovative imaginative football coaching for Bret and his coaching gang. Missed scoring opportunities over & over in the second half and of course the SEC refs helped out old Mizzou with a couple of holding calls late. Something Bama would never have to worry about even if Skipper was tackling the defensive rushers for them.

Watch out, no harsh words for this great team, you will hurt people’s feelings

Are you like 5 years old? Sounds like you’re the one with butt-hurt feelings. You’ll be ok when you find another team to root for.

Our coaches are doing a great job, we just lost to the worst team in the SEC East

Love the play calling late in the game. First and goal at the seven yard line with a minute and forty on the clock. We go into hurry up mode and throw and incompletion in the corner of the end zone, and add a holding call on top of that. Are you kidding me!!! Hopefully, this is the beginning of the end for CBB. Defense was absolutely clueless and offensive play calling in the second half was …I just can’t find the words to describe. And, as was the case all year long, the O line was below average – at best. Oh, but I forgot, we have an outstanding O line coach…

No, we’re good, we have that upward trajectory

We’re getting our $4MM per year worth, right?

Mizzou somehow was just the better team. Just so much quickness and explosiveness on offense as usual and with a stud QB. They had almost as many missed opps as Hogs did. ^he diff as usual is overall team speed. The Hogs need oquickness/faster players all over the field, both sides. And Mizzou will always be known for speedy DEs and same for Rbs and wrs. If defense improve, they will contend again for the East next year. Player development is very strong for them. And #16 thankfully did not play today but no matter. We have to reevaluate recruiting/development. And we have to see about ready JCs at some spots, we get back a JC cb lost for the season next year, add a nice FR safety next season. Ragnow coming back is key but he may forego. OL should be better next season w/ experience if find decent replacement for Skipper whose size worked against him today. Where do mizzou get these guys?..their #16 on defense? and etc. Their #38 just as good as #51 Ellis. SEC just very talented top to bottom whether 5 star or player development. The Hogs will always deal with strong SEC competition. Either a player pending their offensive and defensive position has be strong, instinctive, be quick, and speedy, skilled such as a Drew Morgan. At all 22 positions and KR and PR. Any combination.of those you are 5 star but any of those strengths that defines that player, that’s what you need no matter the stars if you find those individual traits in recruiting Including those that may can play right away but still get better. That’s the only way Hogs will be competitive regardless of who they play or the offensive schemes in the SEC. Dre Greenlaw should be back. Kevin Richardson I think maybe. Increase the team speed and quickness in some spots, development in others so as not lag behind the competition next season in a stronger SEC.

That quick and explosive athletically superior Missouri team is the SEC East bottom dweller and still has the worst conference record in the SEC even after beating Arkansas. They had previous wins this season over Delaware State, Eastern Michigan & Vandy. The Hogs blew a 17 point half time lead.

I see no Missouri athletic superiority displayed in any of all that. Just Razorback inferiority. Arkansas had previously beaten the SEC East leader in Florida. What would cause such radical changes in a football team’s performance? COACHING.

I agree that maybe we chickened out down within 5 yard line on a few occasions due to inconsitent OL…just continue pounding but Mizzou’ s offense WAS the SEC’s best. That means they were far more talented than Florida on offense. They should have hung two or three more TDs on us very easily. Univ of Florida from that great big state can’t find a decent QB? Or even a dual threat one then incorporate the spread? It was laughable they run the I power formation with a QB that barely could hit the side of a barn. They were flat overall against us, almost sleepwalking as we had a lot to do with that with our tremendous energy and very sharp coming out against them from our well needed bye and rest = most executed game of the year as a result against SEC east best. Glad still they did not run spread offense with a QB as good as Mizzou’s Drew Luck.

The Hogs have their work cut out in recruiting. It can get done and has to in order to better 8 wins next season not counting whether the Hogs get to 8 wins this season which still should happen pending on who we play in our bowl. Mizzou at the bottom led the SEC in offense, Kentucky beat top 15 Louisville, and even team like Vandy have maybe the best defensive player in the SEC at LB (thus one of the best in the country), and even MSU will have one of the best QBs and Heisman contender in Fitzpatrick, Ole Miss with their stud freshman QB and two stud frshman WRs next season, etc. In other words, every SEC team playing and not playing against us next season regardless of record could boast of players {ones that may vy for conference & national awards or NFL draft} that may be superior to ours on the field unless our best ones Dre, Scoota Harris, Sosa, Capps, Froholdt, 1 or 2 unknown WRs, Whaley, etc really rise over the offseason or just mature into ultimate 5 star studs on the field. We really do NEED a speedster or two or three or four to be studs also somewhere at the offensive skill positions at WR, RB, KR or PR or if can play a spread OLB/SS role and in the secondary because we will need to keep up with some speedy QBs and WRs next season. It is great we are adding a great freshman safety. Not having enough overall SEC talent, strength, nor speed trumps coaching and oft-repeated criticism of our players to “man -up” pending the type of team and individual talents we play. Yet we are the one still going to a bowl with a winning record instead of Mizzou, Vandy, MSU, and Ole Miss. How do you explain that? [e.g. for example QB Luck may be a better QB and more talented than Austin Allen though BOTH could be in the NFL someday. That is saying a LOT about the talent level at QB in the SEC notwithstanding elite SEC competition at all of other positions on offense and defense.]

:black_small_square: Edit statement: I even think we need a 2nd string dual threat QB with speed as a change up to Austin Allen for some situations next season because almost ALL the SEC teams are doing these things for further competitive edge due to changed nature of CFB. It is a game of speed. We can keep our identity but we will not close out similar games in the future nor narrow the competitive gaps against top tier opponents WITHOUT more speed and quickness. It could get us over the hump (9+ wins) going along with power pro style game plan. That means a quicker OL player or two from this season as well, and becoming more instinctive from game experience and/ or practices which may help quicker in game reactions against speed of SEC defensive ends/tackles/ng, etc. Our OL still need to be somewhat strong players. We will need to outscore our opponents again next year but maybe with same ball control but more explosive offense than this season even though I see much better LB and secondary potential next season on defense:black_small_square:

Because the bottom dwellers to mid- tier in this SEC really actually do have some superior players than the Hogs {and probably moreso than teams with similar W/L records in the other Power 5 conferences} recruiting will still matter just as much as player development and yes, also, coaching as you stated.

Edited 10 times in total. (some housekeeping as Miss State at 5-7 maybe due to Heisman hopeful QB Fitzgerald going to St. Petersburg bowl; 6 and 6 Vandy going to Independence Bowl…Mizzou and Ole Miss should be bowling next year)
