The Hogs would win going away with a little defense.

The problem is, we are not able to stop Miss State in the second half. Can we hold them to 4 touchdowns?

The more important question is can MSU stop us?

And the answer to that question is, NO!

That out scoring them with little concern about developing a defense is Petrino football. It is inherently a losing philosophy when you play the defensive powers of the SEC which always yearly exist.

With that touchdown and 2 point conversion, I feel a lot better. Until then, considering how easy and quickly Miss State can score, I was very concerned. Now I feel like we should win.

I totally agree, but at this point in the season you simply have to do what you do best to win. After the season is over we will have to address the defense one way or another. I hate saying that someone may need to lose their job but that is the way it goes. I do believe we have some nice talent on defense they are just all young and inexperienced.

But mercy, Miss State certainly moves the ball down the field quickly. To win, they need two more touchdowns and two more 2 point conversions and for Arkansas not to score again. Possible but the odds are against them.

We can agree on that. I don’t like calling for people’s jobs either. I hope they have invested wisely in the interest of their families. However I think the DC and D-line need a change in coaching. If that doesn’t straighten things out in 2017. The secondary coach needs to go. We badly need recruiters on the D-Line as well.

For what it’s worth, I thought he was short of the 45

Ballgame boys!!! WPS!!

I agree. That touchdown guaranteed a win.

Just said on the radio. Arkansas & MSU combined for 101 points last year, MSU won 51 to Arkansas 50. This year they combined for 100 points, Arkansas winning 58 to MSU 42. The most points ever scored by Arkansas in an SEC game.

Sounds a lot more like Big 12 football instead of SEC.

Fun game to watch and fun to see RWIII run all over them. One penalty? No punts? Breaking the MSU streak?

If we win against Missouri we will have improved on last year’s regular season record. Last year we won some of the top 25 games we shouldn’t have and this year we didn’t but at least we won the ones that we should have. Ole Miss, MSU, TCU, and Missouri are way down this year and I’d say that Arkansas is down from last year. Replacing that much on the offensive line is always going to be hard but they’ve had some flashes. The problem is that next year we’ll be replacing Sprinkle, Ragnow, and Skipper so we’ll have some of the same problems. At least more players got playing time this year than they had been getting so maybe it won’t be as bad.

The defense, though, was unexpectedly bad in the front 7. I think that Rhoades did a good job with what he had in the secondary. I’d think that replacing Smith at DC is probably in order. There’s been something wrong all year long and it hasn’t been fixed. It started before Greenlaw got hurt though that contributed. Charlie Strong would likely be available and Orgeron might bite on a DC position if he doesn’t get a HC job. I think it’s worthwhile to reach out to them when the year is over.
