I don’t envy Coach Anderson at all regarding substitutions as after CJ hit 1st 3 pointer at 8:01 mark to put hogs go up 55-53, OSU’s Lindy Waters promptly responds with a three pointer shaking off D Hall to go back up by 1 56-55.
After 2nd CJ 3 pointer put Hogs back up 58-56 he had to foul his man who made both free throw to tie the game (Gafford missed two free throws the previous possession). CJ stayed in until 4:41 mark w OSU still up by 1 59-58 when Coach Anderson substituted Barford for CJ with Macon at the free throw line, putting the Hogs back up by one 60-59. Beard probably needed to stay in for his defense and experience at this point.
Game stayed back and forth until Barford ran down his man for a key block shot w Hogs up by one 62-61. OSU just a very tough team to put away no matter who was in the line-up tonight so every meaningful contribution tonight by each Hog player was key to this win IMO. Key defensive plays in crunch-time by J Barford, Dustin Thomas and Tre kept underrated OSU team (minus two players) from snatching this victory tonight. Overall a very good game that the Hogs again gutted out, and nice home win for Coach Anderson. Just keep building and hopefully begin a nice run down the stretch in SEC play! WPS…
