John Daly II was pretty impressive in shooting a -10 at The Blessings to win the Southern Amateur Championship Saturday by 5 strokes. A really strong showing for the Hogs all around as new transfer Camden Smith finished third at -3, and Thomas Curry also shot -3. I was interviewing LJ after his round when his dad called him. He was also supposed to get a congratulatory call from President Trump. His win earned him the automatic qualifier for the U.S. Amateur at The Olympic Course in San Francisco.

Olympic Club is way cool. 45 holes bending through unique mini climates. I’ve played the Ocean Course. Walked the other 18.

I’ve played the Olympic Club course many times on WGT Golf, on my smartphone. 
I did notice that Daly made the quarterfinals (round of 8), before losing to the eventual champion - Mason Howell, the incoming freshman phenom for UGA.
