Maybe now that we have a an AD and a HC hired we can all step back and take an objective look at the program that the new regime will inherit. To my knowledge, there was one offer for an AD and two offers for the HC. Gus was a long shot after the first GA and the Alabama win. We didn’t have people marching on campus, we weren’t turned down by 8 or 9 candidates. I’m not a big fan of Bielema or Long, but they definitely left these guys a pretty solid foundation to build off of once they get settled in here. The program isn’t under any kind of NCAA investigation and we have no post season ban or lost scholarships. Coach Morris wasn’t my first choice after Gus, mainly because I didn’t know much about him, but after reading about him, listening to his peers talk about him, and watching some of the SMU footage, I don’t think we did too bad. Time will tell. For now, though, we have a really good basketball team that is fun to watch, a solid baseball program that is as entertaining as any in the country, and we have a lot of reason for optimism for the football program. Let’s get behind Coach Morris and his staff and do our part as the fan base to make this an attractive destination for the student athletes that look our way. Between now and next season, lets make Bud Walton the most difficult arena to play in for teams coming here. GuardHog out…
Agreed on all accounts. I personally was pulling for Venables, but if by the grace of God, Morris can swing him as our DC, I’ll be in hog heaven.
I was pulling for Venables also. Especially after his interaction with the Arkansas media at the Broyles Award events.
After hearing how Venables spoke positively about Coach Morris is was reassuring. It would be nice for Brent Venables to be our defensive coordinantor.
He has been my first choice since Houston Nutt left town! He’s a winner and coaxhes with passion and energy!
Coach Chad Morris is our head football coach. Great day to be a hog!
Coach Mike Anderson really has done a great job with the basketball team and they are fun to watch. Keep in mind there will be nights that the Ball won’t go in the hole.
Coach Van Horn has our diamonhogs in great shape as well.
