I saw where Brown is going to take two OV’s to Big 12 schools. This don’t bode well for the Hogs. How will this set with CBB?
At this point there is nothing you can do other than to make the necessary changes on defense with a new DC that would be appealing to recruits.
I hope the kid stays with his commitment, but if he is really that good why wouldn’t he want to play for a better Football program, I’m afraid we lose him and others after this seasons results. The Coach B era is not on an upward trend anymore.
The only reason he would have to stay is to be close home.
I just read in the Dallas paper about Calloway and it seems that Ole Miss is on him real hard. He has visited them already and plans to visit Texas next week and then us. Ole Miss coaches will visit him again before and after his Texas visit and again after he visits us. Can’t afford to lose both Brown and Calloway so I hope Bielema has his staff in place before then!

[/quote]The fact is most players, even in state players, choose to play for better programs. Therefore, I don’t believe he will play for the Razorbacks. I realize that occasionally an outstanding player will the choose the Razorbacks; however, even then, it is because they didn’t get offered by Alabama.
I think our problems this year was poor coaching and young inexperienced players in key positions. We are recruiting good players but not enough good players for the SEC. We have a top 25 class but are ranked 10th in the SEC. In the Big XII we would be ranked maybe 2nd and the Big X 3rd or 4th.
I think switching to the 3-4 on defense will help get more speed on the field and give us a chance to play more aggressively although I don’t think Smith is up to the challenge! On offense it will come down to the OL. They have to be able to run block in order for our offense to work. We need players like Brown and Calloway in order to compete and they need to understand they could be the difference makers for a program like ours.
Any recruit that Robb Smith recruited should be immediately evaluated. Wouldn’t worry about Ole Miss, they will be going on probation before long. If a kid can contribute, the Head Coach should be contacting them immediately and letting them know the direction of the program. Clemson gave us hope last night, they are a smaller school than the UofA, so maybe we should be looking at what they are doing. They looked better on offense and defense than Alabama did last night, especially in coaching.
