Brent Venables might be tough to get but certainly worth the effort. The chances would seem pretty slim based on previous history. Apparently he agonized over leaving Oklahoma after 13 seasons to go to Clemson. He values continuity, routine and relationships over the lure of more money or ego of stature. He has one son set to be on the Clemson roster and another with an offer.
The one question about his capability comes in a statement he made that " Every player cannot be a captain. Every soldier cannot be a general. Every professor cannot be a dean. Every writer cannot be an editor." This may be self awareness that he performs best while under the direction another’s leadership or great humility and unrealized potential.
