Zach Rogers will not return

His father said he plans to pursue his career in law enforcement. He’s had interviews with Washington County and Springdale police.

As you may know he’s married and obviously wants to get going in life.

This has nothing to do with the new staff. He was just ready to get on with his career and his life as a married man.

Ok…but it seems very odd that he leaves when he finally has the chance to be a season long starter. My first thought was must be a mutual deal with the new staff.

Zach had informed the previous staff of his intentions in November.

He was always one of my favorites. He committed early and never waivered
Wish him nothing but the best,

Hate to lose his experience but happy for him and his wife. As for the Razorbacks, it opens a scholarship for recruiting, if so needed to be used.

Of all the returning linemen, I would have been most upset if he didn’t crack the starting lineup next year. Seemed like a keep-your-head-down kind of guy, and I always appreciate a hard worker. Hope he finds what he’s looking for!

And now he goes from being an undersized SEC OL to being a big cop.

I hope he has a long and successful career in law enforcement. Another Texan comes to the UA and finds northwest Arkansas too nice to leave.

the pay is bad;50%of the people hate the decision you make on a call;everyone thinks that they know the law better than you;do you know who i am?on just about any dealings with those who think they are better than you…and my favorite of all times…my taxes pay your salary(please pay more)may St.Michael protect him during his "watch"and protect him from any harm.it takes a special person who wants to do the job today…good luck to him…he now has a family of blue along with his razorback brethen.

I’ve never met him, and only know him through this website, but he committed early and stuck wtih it through hs injury, which is uncommon.

showed up here, worked his tail off, finally got to play some this year and played well. I was confident that he’d start all year and play well for us.

He’s also had a couple severe knee injuries, so there’s no telling what he has to go through just to prepare for games, probably more pain than any of us would tolerate.

But man, hard to argue with taking care of your wife and hard to argue with mature (and giant!) young men going into law enforcement, sounds like his community will be the real winners here.

God speed, young Zach, I’ll selfishly miss you on the field, but you seem to be a very mature young man.

Oh wow…ok then. Thanks!

Maybe he’ll get a chance to tackle Baker Mayfield this spring.

Now that’s funny, right there.

Wishing him a safe and fulfilling career in law enforcement and thanks for choosing the Razorbacks! WPS

Well played.
