Zach Evans transferring to OM from TCU

Former 5-star RB, rushed for 648 yards in six games in 2021 before a turf toe knocked him out for the rest of the season. Originally signed with Georgia, which let him out of his LOI and he then signed with TCU. Will have three years of eligibility due to the COVID year. Now he’s a Flopneck.

wonder how much he got paid to transfer?

$1.2M, I figure. Well worth it and legal. We need to match this for each member we buy for our newly constituted defense-if we want to compete with OM and others

He ain’t THAT good, and the Flopnecks don’t have that much money (and what they do have is going into facilities; they’re going to tear down the west side of the stadium and start over just like A&M did a few years back). Gary Patterson recruited him, Patterson’s gone, they hired an Air Raid guy in Sonny Dykes to replace him (and Dykes’ OC is Lincoln Riley’s brother). Not surprised that a RB with some talent could see himself as surplus.
