Women's golf still struggling in NCAA

Shot +12 today, +32 overall at Karsten Creek. I believe there’s a cut today to top 15 teams, and we won’t make it if so.

Cut to 15 teams is after tomorrow’s round. Only have to pick up 1 stroke to get there. Then the top 8 after Sunday’s round of play advance to match play format. Currently 12 strokes behind 8th place. Can easily pick those up in two round. Especially if our 1 player turns it around.

I think they will talley tomorrow. They have the talent to do it. If not they have had a great year!

At this point - before we’ve started the round - we are just 3 shots out of a tie for 9th. The field is very tightly packed, and it’s going to be a dogfight for those top 15 slots, but this team of ours has shown that they can perform coming down the stretch.

Alana Uriell is on fire early, starting with 3 consecutive birdies to start her round. Lady Hogs currently tied for 11th, but only 2 shots from being outside the top 15 in the tightly-packed field.

Wizard do you think they have a run in them this afternoon?

Five shots out of the top 8, which is where they need to be after Monday’s round, but as Wiz said three shots away from not playing on Monday. Uriell took six holes to make a par – four birdies and a double bogey in the first five. Team is even par for the day as of 2:55.

Swine it will be right down the back 9!

Now -1 for the day, solo 10th place, four shots out of 8th. Uriell is -2, Dylan Kim is -1, Maria Fassi and Kaylee Benton are +1, Cara Gorlei is the non-counter at +3.

If the bottom 2 counter can get back to E it would help.

Benton birdied 18 so we’re halfway there.

Let’s hope they keep in going toward that 8 place.

Currently in 3-way tie for 9th, three shots back of Kent State in 8th. Fassi is back to even as well but Kim bogeyed 17 and is also at E.

Uriell birdied 1st hole and Hogs are now solo 9th, two shots out of 8th.

They can’t afford to start tomorrow over 3 shots out of 8th place. There’s only a couple in front of them they can catch.

Now 10th, five shots back. Fassi and Benton both made bogeys. You can make up a ton of shots on somebody if you play well (like we did in the regional in Austin on day two) or the other team struggles. For example, we have made up 11 shots today on Florida State and nine on UCLA, and we’re not even playing that well.

How many holes do they have left to play ?

Looks like we snuck in by 5 or 6 shots to survive to Monday. But we’ll have to gain 6 shots to be included in Match play (top 8).

It won’t be easy but it can be done! Limit the bogey’s and no doubles. They only need to pass 3 teams tomorrow. As a team if they can have 3 of them team finish
-2 and the other 2 finish at least E they have a chance. It may take a real run.

I’m hoping by looking at we’re the hogs stand they can get to +27. that might get them in. Right now they are at +34.
