Women's golf just misses NCAA nationals

Finished eighth today in the regional at Columbus, Ohio; the top six teams advanced. Hogs were two shots out of sixth. However, the Hogs’ Cara Gorlei will go on to nationals as an individual competitor.

Men’s golf regional is in Baton Rouge next week.

Women’s tennis is in regional at Stillwater, OK, starting Friday.

Men’s tennis is in regional at Fort Worth also starting Friday.

Track regionals start May 25 with nationals in early June at Eugene, OR. The regionals are at Kentucky and Texas, so I’m not going to try to guess where we’ll be sent.

The golf teams have had to work around golf course construction at The Blessings – and flooding that has made the practice facility basically unavailable and the course unplayable. The women just didn’t have any good weather right before their trip. The men have at least had some decent weather the last few days. They do have an indoor hitting facility, but there was nowhere for the ball to land hitting out of their hitting bays. That area of the practice facility was ruined by the weather. They were able to go to some other area facilities the last few days.
