Women in way-too-early top 25

Bringing back Chelsea Dungee and adding Amber Ramirez will do that.

Great for the women’s program in all aspects I would think! WPS

They should be very exciting offensively.

Hope SEC Network takes notice in scheduling.

Glad to see it! Only a matter of time before CMN has them rolling!

If Tenn, Miss St or South Carolina have a game at the same time the higs will be on SEC Network +.

Will hopefully become normal to be a ranked team.

CMN is building an exciting program.
Who knows after a couple of years this may be a common occurrence for both the women’s and men’s programs to be ranked, hopefully highly ranked.

Neighbors is bringing back a lot of players, but the key next year is that he has recruited some post players to complement them. Destinee Oberg is a big-time post prospect. Arkansas lost a lot of games this year when it was just overwhelmed in the post. That put pressure on the perimeter players to shoot lights out. When they didn’t, Arkansas typically lost.

It also seems like this is a time of transition and the power balance in the conference might shift. Mississippi State is losing its great senior class, kind of like South Carolina did last year. Tennessee isn’t dominant anymore. Texas A&M wins, but not like it used to win.

I think Neighbors is an outstanding coach. Arkansas has a chance to make a push over the next couple of years. Remember that a lot of the marquee players - namely, Dungee, Gaulden and Ramirez - on next year’s team are going to be eligible the following year, too.

Not sure to what extent this hurts moving forward, but assistant coach Lacey Goldwire was hired as an assistant and recruiting coordinator at Tennessee today.

Keep in mind that Dungee is eligible to turn pro after next season.

She might but I don’t expect her to after next season. The maximum WNBA salary is only $109 thousand and the average about $75 thousand so it is not like they get paid a lot.
