Wins Against Stony Brook

It was a sweep and that’s always good.

Yep, it was cold, nasty weather, but the two games on Friday were played against very nice pitching. The Hogs needed that.

I think, most importantly, HK appears to have been de-slumped.

We now have a new HR leader – Kenley, go figure. Followed closely by (Martin, er no. HK, er no.) newbies Franklin and Ezell.

I love Franklin. He’s a multi tool player. As a freshman, he’s got some of the “it” factor we saw from Casey last year.

I’m surprised Ezell hasn’t seen more interest from MLB scouts. He’s a terrific pure hitter.

[/quote]Yes, chopped liver 400 hitter.

The major league scouts like Ezell as a hitter, but wonder where he might play in the field. He has not shown an ability to throw since the surgery. Dude can really hit. If he hits for this average against SEC teams, he’ll get a chance in pro ball. You can watch him throw the ball around side armed and see that he’s just not there yet.

Just a matter of time…DH coming to the National League. Very possible next Union contract.

Every since the DH was started in the American League it has amazed me the Narional League didn’t follow suit then.
I think Ezell will be able to show his throwing ability before the end of the season. At least I hope so.
The homer numbersnfor Martin and Heston may not be there right now but they will show up soon as it warms up! They are both too good. Between now and them I hope they both just make good contact.
The way Franklin has played in the field and shown his ability to hit has been impressive. Nesbit is going a good job as well. Washington has also had some flashes. DVH has a good mix of freshmen that can contribute to the team this and moving forward. This young team has me excited for confercne play to start.
They won’t win every game but I’m hoping they play well and compete.
