Who said it first?

Does anyone know where “Oh-and-2 and a barbecue” came from? Surely some great talker from college baseball history came up with it. My money is on Polk or Auggie.

They have a barbecue for each team in Omaha when they’re eliminated. I believe that was the place of origin. Who said it, less certain. The phrase was used in a 1988 story in the Daily Okie about the CWS.

I thought it was the old Miami coach, Jim Morris. But it surely could have been Ron Polk. It sounds like something Polk would say.
