Definately depends on your opponent. I’m not sure about an unwritten rule when to do it. But with the high powered offenses today you better be ahead by about 30-40 points late in the 4th.
The rule should be don’t take your foot off the gas early in the 3rd quarter and put up all you can get!
Risking injury is what you do by leaving your staters on the field. Of course you need some quality depth to sub early.
