When did the fall practice become known as "fall camp"?

In my day a camp was different than a practice but I see it called fall camp everyhere now, just curious, makes no difference of course.

I don’t like the phrase fall camp because it is held in the summer.

I refer to it as preseason camp.

But I think the phrase fall camp has just seep into the college football vernacular slowly but surely over the last 10 years.

I think it’s a trickle down from the NFL, where players actually go to a remote “camp” and refer to their preseason practice as a camp.
