Jon Rothstein posted his way-too-early Top 25 and had 4 SEC teams: 7 Kentucky, 19 Florida, 24 Alabama, 25 South Carolina. Arkansas wasn’t 1 of the 5 teams he listed as on the cusp.

I take everything Jon Rothstein says with a huge grain of salt. He’s the same guy that was arguing with people all year that the SEC was a 3 bid league, and the ACC this year was the best conference in college basketball history. Every year he does an SEC prediction and every year since CMA has been here he’s predicted us well below where we’ve finished. He’s also a huge fanboy of certain schools and players, he’ll hype them up, and talk about them all year, when Larry Brown was coaching SMU they were a top 10 team every year according to him. Even his colleagues make fun of him for being a huge fanboy.

I’ll never forget them on set laughing and making fun of him for criticizing scouts for not having Shabazz Napier as the top PG in the draft. He was turning red and getting upset because they would troll him for continually saying that. That’s literally all he would talk about during the tournament how great of an NBA player Napier is going to be. We seen how that prediction turned out for him. Only thing I would listen to Rothstein about is when he’s reporting someone is transferring. Other than that, he has no idea what he’s talking about as far as predictions. And I don’t usually say that a lot about people in their profession, but he’s wrong a whole lot. And never comes back and eats crow.
