Watching Florida State-LSU reminded me

Of some of our rather vocal armchair ADs who were absolutely certain we screwed up by not hiring Mike Norvell.

This game is two teams trying to outfumble each other. One of them is going to win, but they may not deserve it.

And we got the coach we need.

There were certainly some questions that needed to be answered when Sam was hired. It turns out that his former Hog players knew exactly what we needed.

I’ve been thinking exactly what Jeff posted. I have doubts that Novell would have been a long term fix. Certainly better than Chad. The pain was worth the outcome.

I missed most of the first half, but from the parts I’ve seen, neither team is impressive. However, FSU looks better than LSU.

Which ain’t saying much. Norvell turned down a field goal to make it 10-3 and went for it. Which failed of course. Uh, why?

I thought that was a dumb decision. Might bite him in the butt if LSU wins by a small margin.

Fla.St has more energy in this game to and on the rd. LSwho looks lost to me.

Meanwhile, the Brian Kelly era is off to a rocking start. And his contract is 95% guaranteed. You think we gave too much to Bielema, you ain’t seen nothing yet. He’s got nearly $100 million guaranteed AND HE HASN’T WON ONE GAME YET,

They might improve a lot as the season progresses, but right now LSU just looks bad.

I watched some of the Aggies game. Their QB was not impressive at all. Hope he stays that way. Jimbo and Brian…overpaid. Totally IMO.

Agreed

Because that’s what the metrics say do.

The metrics say UTEP.

Fourth and 3 with a 4 point lead on the 14 yard line? Your normal amount of clue is showing. But you seem to know Dunning and Kruger real well.

I suspect Kelly’s honeymoon period will be really short. He is most definitely a fish outta water in Baton Rouge. Makes me sad.

Lead doesn’t matter. The metrics are how far to go and where are you. 4 and 3 inside the 13 yard line is go for it all day long.

Correction. If on 14 as this was and 3 yards or less to gain first is go for it all day long.

There’s all kinds of charts out there with this information as well as books that CSP talks about. I’m surprised you aren’t aware. All knowing as you are.

Welcome to the SEC Norvell

What does that even mean? I just see 2 bad “teams” with a ton of talent…and 2 coaches I wouldn’t trade Sam for.
