Ranked #24 this week for the first time in ages, should move up some after beating #7 Georgia Tech last night.

This Razorback volleyball team is pretty good with height and depth they match with the quite obvious, skill and most important heart of last year. What was seen last night was a team that had given its all gave its all the previous night in beating Georgia Tech 3-1 that had beaten the Razorback badly last year and consistently over the past seven matches. Against NCS in the first set and most of the second set play was near the precision level with focus and energy of the previous night, With a large lead midway through the third set their focus was lost with the Wolfpack becoming the more dominant team at the net. The Razorbacks regained composure and battled to the wire but lost the third set by two. What tells so much about this team was the fourth set where the Razorbacks regained focus and the set’s momentum taking the game over and closing out NCS. No doubt the Razorbacks will move up in the national polls and they are clearly ready for conference play with a much-improved nonconference record. The Razorbacks open SEC play against LSU Wednesday night at the Maravich Center in Red Stick. LSU has recently lost matches to # 11 Penn State and # 23 Marquette with a 3-0 victory over unranked Oregon State. The Tigers now stand 5-4 ending nonconference play with a game against Tulane tonight.

Great crowd in Barnhill last night.
