Seems as if the clock is ticking on Freeze’s tenure at Ole Pi$$…

About time!

As the article said everybody was wondering how Ole Miss suddenly had all these great recruiting classes after years of not.

Southern Cal lost 30 Scholarships over 3 years and Ole Miss’s violations are much more egregious and numerous than the Trojans’. The boys over at the MSU boards are saying 40 scholarships over 4-5 years, which sounds about right. From the articles at USA today and other publications…Hugh Freeze is not long for this NCAA coaching world.

It appears very likely Ole Miss will be fodder for us SEC brethren for at least 8-10 years with the probation and loss of scholarships and tarnished reputation.

I heard a rumor today that floored me. I won’t repeat it however the NCAA allegations might be minor in comparison. NCAA might not be only agency snooping.

The first NOA had allegations about academic fraud. That involved several of the athletic programs, including football. I haven’t seen that addressed by Ole Miss. This one alone makes the LOIC valid for penalty. IMO

The Land Sharts are in deep trouble.

If anyone has seen please let me know, but I have read several articles on this and the only self-imposed penalty I have seen is the No Bowl game. I am surprised they did not have self-imposed scholarship reductions as well. Most schools do that to ward off a more harsh sentence from the NCAA. I hope this gets really bad for them.

Their response to the first NOA was a reduction of 11 scholarships over 4 years. That doesn’t include what has happened after the NFL draft.

This is gonna get good.

What Ole Miss has done is nothing compared to other scandals in the past 3 to 4 years.
They should fight it tooth and nail. What has happened to Baylor? North Carolina,
Syracuse, Louisville, Florida State all of these others have committed more serious violations. Some criminal! One has paid a victim!
Do away with the NCAA enforcement folks and leave it up the conference commissioner!
A better solution start giving these kids enough money to exist while they are in college. It might stop some of the pay offs.

You sure are defending them in numerous posts.

The cheated plain and simple, does it matter what the others did ??

Just because Ala cheated does not mean we should.
Freeze and his high and mighty attitude goes down
If I’m not mistaken he was there when Ed O was the head coach and they did the same so he is plenty dirty

Completely agree, Don. Plenty dirty & plenty smug about it as well.

It’s always interesting when someone posts something negative on Ole Miss or Auburn, there are several on this board that get butt hurt.

The Ole Miss sympathizers should read this piece from 2011 when Bucky was hired by Ole Miss, headed up by Archie Manning. Its enlightening and prophetic.

Everybody cheats. Yes, including us. If we didn’t, we’d go 0-12 every year. Well, maybe we’d beat a couple of rent a wins, but you get the idea. You can’t compete in the SEC by obeying the letter and law of the NCAA rulebook. NCAA enforcement reminds me of a cop on traffic detail on the freeway. He may pull over somebody going 95 and weaving in and out of lanes; while he has that car stopped on the shoulder, everybody else is going by doing 85 to 90. Still illegal, but they’re not getting pulled over. Yet.

Now are we doing what the NASCAR folks might call “downright cheatin’”? I hope not. But maybe we are. And maybe we need to be. I have a feeling that “cost of attendance” just makes legal what has been going on for years illegally.

It seems that Bucky Freeze has been overseeing some downright cheatin’. And my sources tell me other schools in the Southeast (not necessarily the SEC, although there is one particular candidate in east Alabama) are both more widespread and more accomplished in their cheatin’ technique than what Bucky was doing.

Ole Miss is dirty and deserves much more than the sanctions it’s self imposed. I’m sure the NCAA is licking its chops and will give them a lot more. I suspect two years of no bowls. And, then, the Rebels are probably are going to have a hard time recruiting anyone there anyway. I figure Freeze will get a show cause and get fired.

OM may try to take down some others on their way down like Bama and Misstake. They blame Bama for getting it started. Freeze looked terribly shaken and physically ill looking in his video response.

If your career and $5 million salary were flashing before your eyes, you might look a bit shaken too.

No doubt. I met the man here in Jonesboogie when he was at Arkansas State, and he comes across as a good guy.

Like a deer caught in the head lights

Clay, on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the Ole Miss level of cheating, where would you rank Arkansas? If everybody’s doing it, then what are we doing to keep up with the Jones’? Not that I want us doing anything, but not trying to be naïve.
