Jumped to a 4-0 first-period lead over Missouri State and cruised to a 6-2 win in the ACHA Division 3 national semifinal in Grand Rapids, MI. Forward Zach Wilson scored two goals. Hogs will play the winner of tonight’s Michigan-Hope College game tomorrow for the D3 national title.

Michigan is leading Hope College 2-0 in the second period of the other semifinal. Hogs beat the Wolverines the other night 2-1 to win their pool.
Hope College came back and won 4-3 in overtime. The Hogs play them tonight at 6 pm CT.
maybe we become the next Alabama Huntsville, but we would need a NHL booster like maybe Pat Maroon who played in Texarkana or Jon Cooper who coached him in Texarkana. UAH and AZ St are recognized hockey semi powers as non-traditional locales. Florida as a state is way up the ladder in high school hockey powers and has sent a lot of kids to the NHL recently… I made a few Tulsa trips to watch Ice Oiler Animals when I wanted to go have a little off kilter sports fun, same for soccer, now I know enough about each to be dangerous.

I completely stumbled across this one. Facebook post by the UA hockey club showed up on my feed over the weekend and I researched the rest. I’m not going to pay to watch but the ACHA website updates the scores in real time.
Hope College is 12-2-1 and was ranked #1 coming into the tournament.
