Tuesday's Schedule

It is likely that we will be in store for a really late night tomorrow or that Arkansas’ game against Texas Tech won’t be played until Wednesday morning.

The North Carolina-Mississippi State game has been postponed until 10 a.m. tomorrow when more storms are in the forecast. Here is more: http://www.wholehogsports.com/news/2018 … day-omaha/

Boy the weather is really starting to be an issue. If we don’t get the game in tomorrow, it might be Thursday or Friday before we can play.
The National Weather Service has this forecast for Omaha:

Tuesday Night

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. South wind around 6 mph becoming north northeast after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Wednesday

Showers likely, with thunderstorms also possible after 10am. Cloudy, with a high near 78. East wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Wednesday Night

Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a low around 65. North northeast wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible

The Moo U vs North Carolina game should have been played tonight. That just adds to the list of games that will be delayed or postponed for the week. There’s no way to play 3 games tomorrow. They might get the first game played and part of the second game.
The weather stinks in Omaha. But I’m glad the hogs are still playing.

No they shouldn’t have played tonight! It would have been 10:30 or later before they even started and we saw last year in super regional what can happen when a game starts that late. They made the correct decision. You just have to live with the rain.

It would have been difficult to play the North Carolina-Mississippi State game tonight within NCAA parameters. Games cannot begin until 65 minutes following the conclusion of the preceding game and no game can begin after 11 p.m.

What happened tonight was essentially what happened during the Arkansas-Florida game in the SEC Tournament last month. There was no way to tell when the preceding game would end and they did not want teams waiting around the ballpark for a game that may or may not be able to start on time.

It’s better to tell the teams early about the postponement so they can go back to the hotels and rest than to be at the ballpark until 10:30 or 11 wondering whether or not there would be a game.

There is no way around the delays and postponed games. I’m glad they don’t try to keep playing any baseball or football any more when there is lightning in the area, it’s just a lot safer.

I was in Omaha and then drove across Nebraska several years ago during the CWS and got in some serious storms, complete with hail, high wind and rain coming down in buckets. This kind of has the same feel to it, storms every day for three or four days.
