4:00… not sure what the reason is
That’s odd.
Florida at Ole Miss postponed, Hogs-Leghumpers moved into that time slot on SECN. Per story at UA website.
Fine with me. Makes it that much harder for Moo U fans to get there.
8 to 4, wonder if it’s weather related after watching the weather for tomorrow moving in the state.
Yes and students are not on campus so obviously not as many people going to be there at 4:00 as there would be 8:00
We were scheduled on secn at 8 already I thought.
Now we’re filling that 4 pm slot.
I appreciate the change. Will allow me to watch the Hogs then catch a local high school game at 7:00.
We need all the help we can get.
For me in Eastern time zone, starts at 5. I usually get off work at 4:30 so I’ll get back to the hotel just in time.
Although the time change really doesn’t make a difference for me, I don’t really understand the motivation for the change. We were scheduled to play them at 8 p.m. on the SEC Network, so when the 4 p.m. game (Florida/Ole Miss) was postponed, we moved to fill that spot.
But why? In looking at today’s SEC Network schedule, they will now just fill the 8 p.m. time slot with two airings of SEC Now. Wouldn’t the network rather have a game at that time?
Did Mississippi State have a choice in switching times? I know their students are away, but it’s still a major inconvenience for their fans who were going to attend. Some will have to bail out of going, with only a day’s notice.
It’s not a bad deal for the Hogs since we’re on the road and will no doubt play in front of a smaller (and therefore probably less hostile) crowd.
It’s just weird. I can only imagine if this had been a game at Bud Walton Arena what our reaction would have been.
So they’ll have 3000 fans instead of 6000
I thought it was odd too. I bet our staff likes it as they were already down there yesterday so don’t have to wait until late at night to play and get home earlier. Muss can start on next game prep earlier. Also as mentioned crowd may be a little lighter.
I saw a pic of Muss getting on the plane yesterday holding a sign “Game is at 4”. So they knew before they left.
The schedule now is us at 4, Gardner Webb-Jawja on SEC+ at 6, Misery-Kentucky on SECN at 6, Aggies-UCA at 7 on SEC+. Having SEC Now at 8, at least there is new stuff to cover instead of a rerun at 4.
I was wondering if there was a bowl game conflict they wanted to avoid but Clemson plays Iowa State at 4:45 and Mobilehoma-Nike U at 8:15 so no SEC bowls today.
That was an edited shot. There was an earlier one of him with the blank sheet of paper as they were unloading the plane. Then the UofA added the game time on it later.
Why the time change?
I explained it above. Since Florida-Ole Miss was postponed, they moved us into that 4 p.m. slot on SEC Network.
That seems to cause problems for fans going to the game on such short notice. Still doesn’t explain why moving our game from prime time.
Yep. But it’s a problem for their fans, not ours.
