OP didn’t age very well, did it?
No, but there were a lot of us that felt that way after the dismal end of the season. I was shocked at our successful run and surely didn’t expect it.
I would have agreed with him at that time. There was no shame in being pessimistic then.
Have you ever been wrong. Go to ole miss board. They were ready to fire Bianco and they are champs now. Sad one feels the need to put down other posters.
I’m not putting him down. I understand why people felt that way a month ago. As events transpired, the negative view was obviously wrong, but understandable. I wasn’t exactly brimming with optimism either coming out of Hoover. However, when I saw the video on Hogs+ of the pitchers’ golf outing, I felt a little better, that they might be hitting the reset button going into the regional. Did I think we’d make the final four in Omaha? No I didn’t.
That is too funny. Bianco is about to be toast, and then he brings home the golden trophy!!
Swine likes to take cheap shots. I would say 90% of hog fans agreed with that post including me. My 8 year old grandson never had any doubt that we would go and win CWS
Nobody hesitates to tell me when I’m wrong; why should I be more courteous than that?
Learn how to be a better person, a bigger person, perhaps!
From that same thread, our very own @MattJones nailed it:
I think Stillwater is a toss-up regional. I was shocked Oklahoma State got the No. 7 national seed. The Cowboys did not play well down the stretch.
Grand Canyon has beaten some solid Power 5 teams in midweeks this year. Missouri State is playing well.
Anything can happen this time of year. All you have to do is get hot for two weeks and you’re in Omaha.
I just thought the bracket set up well for Arkansas to make a run. There were six regional hosts with lower winning percentages than the Razorbacks, and two of those were Oklahoma State and North Carolina. I did not think Arkansas would take kindly to being seeded No. 2, even if it was deserved because of the way the regular season ended. The team responded like I thought one so experienced and well coached might.
Silly, Matt. You operate on logic. I operate on emotion
The saying never get too high or too low usually is sound advice. About the only time that wasn’t sound advice was under Morris.
The vast majority of the rest of my life I can do that. I am a mess when it comes to Arkansas sports. I simply cannot contain the emotions.
My wife makes fun of me for it.
I try to contain mine. If my grandchildren were allowed to be in the house with me when the Hogs are on TV, I’m convinced they’d hear or see nothing improper.
LOL. Understand.
I’m probably that way with our dogs. I worry about them all the time. I’m a wimp while Megan is usually the more level headed about them.
You are a good man. My grans were with me during the Ole Miss blow out game. My grans asked my daughter “What does well chit mean?”
I didn’t have really high hopes for us going into the regional but I know me and Danny(LDhog)were talking about that it might be good for us to get away from home so that we wouldn’t have any pressure on us. I did say that if we could just win one game that might give us some confidence and I believe it did. This team always had potential but they were in such a rut they were finding ways to lose games. Stillwater proved to be a perfect place for us to get our mojo back and carry it on in the North Carolina. Baseball is such a weird game I live in Mississippi and all the Ole Miss fans were ready to get rid of Bianco in the middle of the season trust me!
Billy, by golly we were right. Thankfully.
Yeah being on the road kind of got us away from all the high expectations that come with hosting.
