OMG. Toney was simply amazing tonight.
Toney and JWill were pure Windex – cleaning that glass. 20 boards between them.
My first time to see him play, and all I can say is WOW! The guy is a warrior and a winner. Ditto, Chris Lykes. What an advantage it is to have a guy who can handle the ball and knock down FT’s when the game is on the line. This is a team that other teams are going to really hate playing. They will never back down and they will scrap and fight for every rebound and every loose ball. Gotta get Stanley going, and a little more scoring out of J-Will, and this team will be unstopable.
I don’t know what to say about Toney because he was so good tonight he made me speechless. There were rumors of him being a problem at Pitt but I just don’t see that.
The young man plays so hard and knows his role. I honestly think he could score a lot more but he plays within the system.
I just love love this young man.
I’ve been wanting a player like Toney for a long time. Seems like Auburn and A&M and others frequently had a tough, strong, fierce guy down low to just kill us.
I’ve been trying to figure out who he might remind me of from past Hog teams, but I can’t really out my finger on it. Maybe Marshawn Powell some? Some Derek Hood?
Small forward who plays like a big; he is a main ingredient. Six offensive boards; wow.
All those rumors sure don’t fit what we are seeing. Toney has been respectful in the post game pressers too! The way he’s battled down low is amazing. It’s been a long time since we had a player that would fifth down low like he does.
Darrell Hawkins?
I noticed he was calling Chuck “sir” after the game last night. I was laughing at that.
Muss said that they did not run ONE offensive set for Toney, in either game. and he led us in scoring! wow, is that valuable.
GHG
Lenzie Howell? he scores better than Hood, but Hood was a WARRIOR
GHG
Toney is showing some warrior so far. Hood was taller and maybe more athletic, but Toney gets in there and battles. I’m not thinking of a good comparison from past UA teams.
He is a very different player than I thought we were getting. I thought we were getting a nice peremiter player with some length. Instead we got an undersized inside banger and lock down defender.
I’m with the comparison to Lenzie Howell. Just did a little research and has failed to remember thatLenzie died at age 52. Great Razorback
Lenzie might have been lighter on his feet and a better jumper. Toney is stronger. But they are both glue guys and I love them.
Toney’s game is a lot like Adrio Bailey IMO.
Kinda reminds me of a former Pitt Panther,NBA short-timer Jerome Lane of “Send it In Jerome “fame.
I haven’t figured out who to compare home too either. He is making his own imprint for our hogs.
No Toney has a lot more offensive ability. But Adrio battled for boards and then passed the ball out.
There are a ton of dogs on this team. Never back down and rebound like demons. Love it. Imagine when we start hitting 3’s…
