The disrespect after last night is so sad

Some of the comments on here are really surprising. It go so bad on twitter that Muss’s wife made a post about it. A poster on here says he hopes JD quits shooting all his bricks. Not one word about JD’s 8 steals last night.

I guess supporting and enjoying the Razorbacks have different levels. I’m on cloud 9 when they win and down in the dumps for at least 24 hours when they lose. I get upset when they make mistakes and bad decisions but after a win I could care less.

Do these same people have any idea the amount of effort it takes to do what our team does on defense? J Will had 15 boards last night! He looked totally gassed many times last night but he never quit. Toney shut down a young man that hung 37 on U Conn Thursday night. JD fouled out while playing his butt off on both ends.

When we started 0-3 in conference a change was made to be a defensive team first. We play 7 players and they all play D very hard. They will get tired and their offense will suffer some but what they won’t do is quit. They deserve all our respect and lots of praise for how hard they play.

Just a few years ago we couldn’t play d, couldn’t shoot free throws, couldn’t make the tourney, couldn’t recruit 5 stars and wouldn’t use the portal. But some are mad that we won but didn’t score enough…go figure

I started the post last night about our offense, but I’m not mad about anything. Maybe my words were not chosen well about how we played on offense, but I’m anything but mad. Happy to watch them next weekend. Life’s too short to get mad over a basketball game. Proud of this team and their effort.

Our D has gotten us this far, and a lot of hustle and grit. Hoping our offense shows up Thursday.

I couldn’t believe some of what I was seeing. We just frigen advanced to the Sweet 16.

Unreal.

Some of my friends on Facebook were doing the same thing. I was like “we won, you know?”

If you want to complain after a loss (still shouldn’t name players) that is one thing. If you want to complain after a win over a “Sisters of the Poor” team in the early season. OK. But to be anything but thrilled with a win that takes you to the Sweet 16? You have problems.

Yep, reading a lot of the posts, if you didn’t know the score you would have thought we lost the game

I think it’s perfectly fine to say we had a miserable offensive night but our defense carried us through… that Rebounding, and Free Throws.

Preach, Jeff! Some of the responses on here are so ridiculous. We haven’t been a blip on the college basketball radar screen for 25 years, yet we have been, and should always be, a blue blood. We actually matter again! We have a banner hanging in The Bud, and we are poised to get more. Yeah, this team can’t shoot for s%#t, but we will guard your azz. By no means should THIS Arkansas team be in the Sweet 16, but here we are. I can think of A LOT more talented Hog teams that did not advance this far. We no longer have to worry about IF we will get into The Dance. The future is VERY bright. Go Hogs!

Agree with your thoughts— my opinion of the “bad” offense — their coach elected to clog the middle and give up our 3 point shots because normally we struggle there— our game plan stop their 3 point shots because that their—as result “ bad” offense both teams as opposed to great defense by both teams— which is what my eyes saw— I also saw 2 sport center passes from JDand Jalen. WOW

Yep Mrs Muss made it plain. Any fans can’t tweet positivity will be blocked from her and him. By her. Go Danielle

I had to put the brakes on some of my friends on Facebook because according to them we lost. They were bashing the team for winning. Thought all Arkansas had to do was show up. Unreal what so called “fans” can post when we win. :joy:

John Brummett was blocked by Danyelle. He had some unkind things to say about her doing that.

I think it was unwise on her part as well. We had a brutal offensive performance. Yes it was almost historically bad. Muss, Announcers, Fans alike all commented on it. BUT, The vast majority praised our Defense & Effort. Hey we won…Yay!!! Why would she even comment. Our fans are no different than any others. Are some over the top stupid? Of course… let it go!

She can do whatever she wants but that’s one she’d / We’d be better served to just let that stuff go like water off a ducks back

Defense is hard to watch and understand. . . In the first game. . .Ryan Davis didn’t have a shot in the last 13 minutes. . … That dude tore it up in the conference tournament. . .why nothing against us. . … . . go back and watch the defense in the last 13 minutes. Every time he caught the ball, he was out of position and turned with his back to the basket. Muss’ plan for him. You can’t shoot the ball effectively with your back to the basket. . . .

Now go rewatch Toney on Teddy Buckets. . . . . amazing game he had. We can and will play with anyone . . . This year, the overall winner is NOT going to be an ultra talented team. . they are going to be a mature team with a bunch of experience, battle tested and well coached. Any team that just rolls out the ball and says have at it, isn’t going to have a chance against well coached and battle tested players. . . .

If you think Gonzaga is going to get out of that game unscathed. . .we will be ready and even if we don’t win, they aren’t going to be looking like the team of allstars like the did against no defense Memphis.

Muss has 5 days to prepare. . .they will be ready and they got a shot at them. . .

I’m with her, but it’s a sign of the times. Lots of anonymous experts out there that love being critical and negative. Lots of anger as well. Best to ignore them, but I understand her frustration.

With the nature of social media, could be anybody making nasty comments. Not even necessarily real Hog fans, could be Hog haters posing just to run down and harass CEM in hopes of damaging the program (run them off). Anonymous social media has really turned us into an uglier society than we were a couple of decades ago.

I think we’ve been an ugly society for a very long time. Anonymous social media simply facilitates it.

As long as it’s not Kentucky. Can’t take another Eddie Sutton move.

I doubt she or Muss cares what he thinks. I certainly don’t

Let me rephrase my original point. We had a rough night offensively. Full of offensive TO’s, missed shots, etc… Coach Muss admitted as much as to how bad it was. BUT We found a way to win. My only real point was? Let the small stuff go! Most people including myself celebrated a great win When we weren’t close to our best.

While I understand her frustration, Ignore the stupid stuff versus confrontation of blocking negative posts.
JMO!
