SEC pitching is tough to hit. Diggs needs ABs. He was considered a top prospect. He has great tools. So does Stovall. Need a righty bat to come alive.
The amazing thing about the HR if you can go back and pause it and look at it was the pitch was not a strike,it was up and in a good bit but his quickness to pull his hands in and turn on it was Awesome!! Head was down looking at the barrel at impact, just a perfect swing!
While high in the strike zone I’d think it could have been called a strike. It certainly was not too high for him to take a solid, yet comfortable swing. Perhaps, he has a good feel for the strike zone; I hope so.
I think it would have been really close now going back and looking at it again but most people are going to hook that foul that was just an incredible swing… Todd Walker on SEC now was talking about that the ability to pull your hands in that quickly it’s something you can’t teach
Before this season, I would not have believed that either Wallace or Moore would have an OPS less than 1.000, much less both of them.
I think the kid reads pitchers very well. At least that pitcher he did.
Probably not much of a scouting report on Diggs until now obviously. Since he hasnt played much.
Just crafty by DVH to have him DHing in the 9 hole.
Diggs hit well in the preseason. The thing I’ve noticed about him is he usually puts the ball in play.
Compact/controlled/powerful swing… Diggs may completely change this lineup mentally and physically if he can maintain his hitting when playing more (which I’m sure he will get the chance).
His stroke reminds me of Zack Cox.
Is Diggs penciled in as 1st baseman for next year?
