Really bad that UA is having to throw millions of dollars away to clean up this train wreck.

I was clear UA would never pay that much money to pay a Coach not to coach, terrible business.

But I never envisioned embarrassing blowouts to Bama and Auburn and South Carolina – unbelievable, really, and it looks like it’s going to get worse.

I figured Hogs were going to do the Bielema usual and pull out a 6-6 or 7-5 season. Never thought it was this bad.

There should be accountability for putting UA in this position.

This is the current business model in college football.
At least in big-boy college football

At the time the contract was made Bielema seemed to be moving things in the right direction.

I would have done the same thing.

Some folks are awfully good at judging after the passage of time.

Who knows. Could win 4 of 5 to close the season. I’m not betting on it but stranger things have happened.

Two things:

  1. The contract and buyout isn’t as bad as originally thought. Many didn’t see Matt’s correction. 5.8 million is much better than 15.7.

  2. He went 3-9 (0-8 SEC). Then 7-6 (2-6 SEC). Then was given the extension. To me we should have waited for at least one more year, but the downside is he went 8-5 (5-3 SEC). So, he would have still got the pay raise and buyout, but we’d owe him a lot more.
