Texas recruits not staying at home

Including A&M. More top Texas kids signing with Ohio State than anywhere else.

Was texting a friend of mine who covers recruiting in Texas tonight and he mentioned the same thing. Said there are 6 5-star prospects in Texas and there’s a decent chance just 1 of them stays in-state. And only 6 of the top 20 are committed in-state.

He said A&M’s class is top 10 based on sheer numbers and that Texas’ class isn’t very good.

Ditto on EOE-K. Just read where the Vols whiffed on 3 from Tenn that were 5 star prospects. One to Clemson and 2 to LSU.

Jones is under some heat about those. Unless something huge happens this year in Knoxville he will probably be gone.

Coach B has got to make Texas a priority. It is a natural for proximity to Arkansas and the athletes love that they are only 5-7 hours from home. Mom and Dad can come watch them. That pipeline has to start flowing again.

ESPN has the Horns 32, Scout has 'em at 29 with just 17 in the fold. Hogs are their usual 20-30, yawn.

Take the top 4 star services, 9 outa last 10 years at least, average the Hog’s ranking, they’ll be 20-30. :sunglasses:

We still have a lot of enemies in Texas because they would like to blame us for the demise of the SWC. Texas schools can’t do anything about the roots OU has developed, but they sure as heck will do anything they can to keep us and LSU out of there. We have not hired many good coaches with Texas ties to overcome the negative recruiting against us.

We have 5-10k students from DFW on campus, but we struggle to get athletes to sign from Texas???
