Tennessee offers in-state prospect

Earle athlete/quarterback Gerry Bohanon, 6-4, 215 pounds has received his 9th offer from Tennessee.

Arkansas, Auburn, Alabama and Georgia are among his other offers.

This young man is stacking up the offers.

Now add LSU offer! This cat is blowing up.

I think it may be hard for the Hogs to keep this stud in state based on what I’m hearing from people around him. I sure hope we can. I watched him in person before all the offers and hoped he may remain a hidden 2A gem that Arkansas could steal. But the cat’s out of the bag on this one. He’s worth all the hype. Will have to fight off all the big boys for this one. Come on Coach B!

Does he want to be a quarterback or does he want to be a linebacker? I wonder which position the Razorbacks are projecting for him?

We seem to be pretty dedicated to the stand in the pocket type of quarterback. I wonder what Enos might be able to do with a more mobile QB.

If the kid wants to play QB, surely they are smart enough to recruit him as one. Look at all the teams lately in college that have been really good have had mobile QBs, except Bama, and now they even have one. Guys like Newton, Manziel, Tebow, Jackson, Mariota, Winston, Prescott, Watson could be labeled as one, and I’m sure there are many more I’m missing but they can change a game on their on. When we had Matt Jones he was sure fun to watch and made many plays when there was nothing there. I’ll take whatever QB is the best for us but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want a dual threat QB in the near future. I’m not saying the kid will be those guys but give him a shot at the job at least even if we already have a QB commit. Here is to hoping he is a hog!

They’re doing what they can. A kid that has mentioned he wants to play QB and is hearing that from several schools could be tough to keep in-state.
Richard, and you may not want to answer this, but can he play QB in the SEC ? Obviously LSU can’t recognize a good QB — but MSST, TN — then you take it seriously as far a playing QB, if they aren’t misleading the kid.

I know some have doubts whether he can play QB in the SEC. Some will tell a kid they can play their preferred position but in the back of their mind they know the kid can’t and will eventually be moved elsewhere.
I know younger people normally don’t think this way, but how many dual threat QB’s have won the Super Bowl or even had a long career in the NFL ? Staubach and Young are the only two I can think that are close to that description that won the Super Bowl — and that was a different era.
Cam made it – once, and lost … And Dak survived the this year ---- but Fitz Hill just said LSU was the team to beat for this guy. Gotta let him go, if he thinks he is a QB and he is not.
