Streaks and trends

Streaks and trends in baseball are always important; I guess that’s why they always track won-loss in the last 10 games.

Hogs are trending well in the NCAA at 3-1, but stacking them up against their side of the CWS, there are some really hot teams, much hotter than the Hogs, starting with Carolina.

Last 10, last 5, NCAA

North Carolina – 9-1 // 4-1 // 3-1
Stanford – 9-1// 4-1// 4-1

Southern Miss – 7-3 // 4-1 // 4-1

Auburn – 7-3 // 3-2 // 3-0
Ole Miss – 7-3 // 3-2 // 3-0

Oregon State – 7-3 // 3-2 // 3-1

UCONN – 6-4 // 4-1 // 3-1

Arkansas – 4-6 // 3-2 // 3-1

What about the teams that lost?

Well, if we can 2-0 in Chapel Hill, last 10 goes to 6-4, last five goes to 4-1, and tourney goes to 5-1 – I like those trends…

What do we always say, just win.

Yeah. Trends can sometimes tell things, but sometimes teams make a sudden reversal. That won’t show up in a trend line right away.
