DePaul leads St. John’s by 8 in second half after Darius Hall knocks down a 3. Mike Anderson once coached Hall at Arkansas.
DePaul is on a 21-7 run. Up 15.
Ole Miss and St John’s both really hurt their chances to make the tournament today
DePaul won only its second Big East game. St. John’s had no inside game.
This might be a bubble pop for Mike’s team. A true bad loss.
DePaul won, 88-83, in Queens.
Yes. This was a way bad loss. That is like Arkansas losing to a Vandy at home.
Do you mean Vandy?
Unfortunately St. Johns has to go to Villanova next. Really bad loss tonite for Coach A. I will still never understand why Darious Hall would leave Arkansas after a very good freshman year, sit out a year, and go play for a terrible DePaul team. It makes zero sense.
No excuses for losses at home to Marquette by 2 and now DePaul to go with ot losses at Georgetown and at covid riddled Butler. When you depend on freshmen, sophomores and two talented first year in program jucos, team will have highs and lows with inconsistency. Next year they are scary but this year you take the losses and work harder.
Yes DePaul is bad in NET and record wise. However this is same ex Kansas pg Charlie Moore led team. This was his first game back from injury. Covid hit DePaul worse than Aggies. They only played a couple non conference instead of usual 10 or 11 noncon wins. Last year this DePaul squad won at Iowa and won their Big 12 challenge in noncon.
Bottom line is you cant lose to DePaul and let them hit 65% (30-46) from 2 and 50% from 3 while you are shooting 32% (12-38)from 2 yourself.
SJ only team in big east without a couple of 6-10 bruisers. Where is a Lee Wilson and Darnell Robinson size when you need them.
Once the get fans in gym next year, home court will mean more than 50/50 chance of winning. Regardless Go Hogs! Aggies cancel keeps us out the potential bad side of news and continue climb. Despite SJ bubble bursting, I like the pieces on their team with a home crowd next season in Queens and Hogs in 19,000 packed Bud Walton.
Aggies are spineless.
