Stadium renovations?

I have seen two renderings of what the new changes will be. One was mainly brown brick and seemed plain. Scoreboard looked the same on the back side, but I would take the change in a second. The other, much better in my opinion, was glass with huge white columns. Had a huge razorback on the back of the scoreboard, and was more white and silver look. Looked clean. The stands in each were the same for the most part. Can some clearify which one is the one being built, or are changes still being made? Thanks for any info!

Won’t know for certain until the work is actually done or at least in progress, but the white/glass version is the more recent artwork they’ve released, so I’m guessing that’s what they’re thinking at this time. Which can always change, I guess; for instance if they are having cost overruns and need to cut back on something.

Thanks, Swine! I’m excited for it to to begin. I think it’s going to look so much better than that open end zone. It should make it louder with it being bowled in and will help increase revenue in the long run. Won’t hurt in recruiting either.

These are the most recent renderings:

The bottom picture was for the first rendering they did. That’s what I was wondering which it would be? I have the picture of the new image of inside stadium but don’t know how to post it. When I tried it said it was to large?

Here it is. Thanks Swine for helping me, again! That’s the photo I was talking about. Seems to mirror those front columns. And I like the little razorback at the top, like is on the back of the scoreboard on the rendering. May look nothing like it but I hope it’s close

All of the latest renderings show some brick incorporated with the white exterior.

Wish it could somehow take seating capacity to 80k.

Hate being a few thousand short of being able to sound like a big at 80 plus

The announced crowd was over 75,000 for Bama, with the addition of 4800, which includes SRO, we’ll be over 80,000 on a full to the brim game.

I hope this picture is accurate - with one caveat. I’d like to see a white/silver hog on the back of the Pig Screen, with a constant red back-lighting effect, similar to pic below . . . on a bigger scale.

I posted this idea here about 4 years ago and got overwhelmingly positive feedback. I had already engaged in an email “conversation” with Jeff Long about this, and he told me he liked the idea and would “keep it under consideration” if/when improvements to the North end zone gained traction. Needless to say, I was thrilled when I saw the pic below with Jimmy Dykes shortly after the new Basketball practice facility opened (I have not been in that building, but assume that’s where this pic was taken).

This is exactly what I had in mind for the back of the Pig Screen. Can you imagine how a huge Hog (maybe 25-30 feet from snout to tail tip, which appears to be about the size of the Hog in the artist’s rendering) with that lighting would look as day turned into night? As it got darker, all you would see - even from some distance - would be a glowing red Hog lighting up the night! It would be a Hog beacon - an iconic image that needs no other words or lettering around it. It would also look awesome during the day, or course. Superior branding.

As I’ve posted before, current estimated capacity of new RRS is 76,212 (~4800 new seats but removing ~600 seats now in the South Outdoor Club, which will be replaced by suites). This also includes the standing room area on the north end, which will be about 1500 capacity.

However, as noted earlier in the thread, official attendance for a big game such as Bama, LSU, Texass will undoubtedly approach or reach 80,000.

Furthermore, as two factors continue to increase (student enrollment and NWA population), I will not be surprised if they finally add the deck atop the SEZ in 10 years or so.

Can someone explain how to post pictures?

Click the “Img” button above the post window. It will give you something that looks like this:

In between the two img brackets, put the URL of the picture you want:

Which will give you this:

Testing this photo thing

I tested it quite a bit myself. Glad I finally got it working!
