Something from a few weeks back on Overstreet

This seems more relevant today after Mason finished solo second at the NCAA tournament this weekend. He’s as bright of a prospect as the Hogs have ever had in golf, the whole package. I expect to get to sit down with him in the next day or so. Mason and coach Brad McMakin are traveling back from Chicago today. Here is the column I wrote before the regional:

Clay, I watched Mason play in the NCAA’s on TV Monday. What an impressive golf swing he has. Nice and compact and extremely powerful. He appears to have a nice putting touch, also.

The Ole Miss boy who won has a very unorthodox swing and looks a little like Tommy “two gloves” Gainey, but he hit the ball well and putted just great.

Congratulations to Mason for his performance. Go Hogs.
