C.J. O’Grady tried to practice today, so he is day-to-day.

Paul Ramirez has an MCL injury. There isn’t a tear, so he won’t require surgery, but he will miss about 7 to 10 days of practice.

Bielema is happy with how Dan Skipper is practicing at left tackle. He said Kurt Anderson saw some things in Skipper’s play that made him better on the left side than the right.

Colton Jackson has moved from left tackle to right tackle. Deion Malone has moved to right guard. Johnny Gibson is working out at left guard. Those moves have allowed Zach Rogers to move to center full-time, where he is backing up Frank Ragnow.

Juan Day practiced for the first time today. He should be able to go through the scrimmage Saturday. Rawleigh Williams and Kody Walker may be held out.

Tevin Beanum may be added to the 105-man roster before next Monday.
Good running backs can make an average run game look very good.

Enos said he is real happy with how the run game looked Saturday. “I think those guys were running determined, running tough, reading their keys and making good quick decisive decisions.”

It sounds like Austin Cantrell has taken a step forward as the No. 2 tight end. Enos said Cantrell has looked much better in the pass game the past four practices.

As we have noted, Cole Kelley, Ty Storey and Rafe Peavey are battling for No. 2 QB. Rickey Town is fifth. Enos said Town’s attitude has been “great.”

He said Kelley is awesome above the waist and poor below. He noted that Kelley isn’t comfortable taking snaps under center and needs to work on his footwork. “He’s ahead of the game a little bit as far as his football intelligence. You wish you could have rookie minicamps to get them started early.”

Smith said the ones were solid in the scrimmage the other day. “They communicated well, allowed us to move forward this week in installation.”
