Even if the NCAA tournament proceeds with empty arenas, some schools who would be there won’t play. Including Duke and Kansas, apparently (cue jokes about how Bill Self shouldn’t be in the tournament anyway).
A lot of schools that are on spring break are telling their students not to come back from break; they’ll do classes online.

It’s just not tenable to start the tournament in five days, or even ten days. It is probably going to be close to the end of the month before governments, companies and schools are going to start thinking about easing up on some of the restrictions. Starting the tournament in early April just does not seem doable. So this is very likely the year without a champion.
