Going for the sweep at Columbia. Braxton Burnside hit a two-run homer in the first inning, her 15th dinger of the season (in 22 games!). This would be the Hogs’ 18th win in a row.
Burnside was third in the nation in homers coming into the weekend, behind two Paperclips. I think she’s moved into second place now.
Chickens tied it 2-2 but Linnie Malkin homered in the fourth to make it 3-2. It’s her ninth dinger.
We left the bases loaded in the 5th; Malkin fanned on a changeup to end the inning. Still 3-2.
where did Burnside come from? she is unreal!
She’s an Arkansas girl from Paragould, originally signed with Misery then transferred back to UA after two years in CoMo. She’s not a very big girl, doesn’t look like a power hitter, but she is. Hit 15 homers for the Tiggers and now has 20 dingers as a Hog.
Mary Haff came on to get the save and the Hogs win 3-2. Now 3-0 in the SEC, 20-2 overall.

According to her UA bio page, she went to Paragould High.
That was my high school. But, we were the Bulldogs, now they are the Rams (consolidation thing).
