I think this spring is big for Soli and Zach Williams. Not getting spring practice last year with the new staff really hurt after they both got thrown in the fire a bit as true freshmen. Those two have some talent, they just need health, stability and reps/coaching to make a nice jump this year. Gregory should be solid as well. Throw in Gerald and that’s four DEs who look to be playable in SEC games.
The problem is you probably need five or six. Stewart came in a bit undersized, but of the guys on the squad now, he seems like the most logical addition to the rotation. I suppose Fulwider or Porter could surprise, but I kinda think we are going to be trolling the portal for some more depth.
Nichols played more tackle than end last year, and at times looked pretty good. I think Miller could be real good. Between Carter, Jackson, Boykin and the newcomers I think we will have enough size and thickness to play the interior positions, though it might only be a five man rotation.
Thomas has been working there this off season, or as much as they can do, looking good.
