So ESPN is teaming up with Bar Stool Sports

You have to be freaking kidding me.

Yup. Everyone looking to find the next Clay Travis-like leader of “gotcha!” millennial non-journalists and Internet tough guys.

Maybe yall can help me out here. Honest to God, not trying to be obtuse. I can’t get a good explanation for this, even though I have seen a ton on twitter about this and Sam Ponder.

What is Barstool Sports? A podcast/blog entity that hosts a full array of podcasts, i.e. The Ringer? They don’t actually break news, right? I thought they were like Bleacher Report, but BR actually has some good writers, such as Howard Beck.

So it’s like just a bunch of people snarking about sports?

Best I can tell it’s your last sentence. And, I think what makes them “different”. I think they position themselves as the smart aleck at the bar who has had too many.

The reason they are attractive to Espn is they have a very successful podcast that is mostly listened to by that 18-34 demographic.

I thought I had that market cornered.

In all seriousness, thanks for the answer.

I don’t have much use for them.

It’s a bunch of idiots

Not to impugn that much wanted 18-34 demographic, then they ought to fit right well with 18- to 34-year-okds. Ha!

Think the worst of social media and you’ll be in the ballpark of what Barstool seems to be all about.

Post of the day nominee.

No problem
