Ex-Hog Sandi Morris won the silver medal with a 4.90m clearance at the World Championships in Doha, Qatar. Sandi had zero misses until the final height of 4.95, which she failed to clear in three tries. Russian Sidirova, who also had zero misses through 4.90, cleared 4.95 on her final attempt to win the gold.
It was a gripping fun competition to watch, even to keep me from watching NFL.
Sandi continues to finish second, although she did beat out her nemesis Katerina Stefanidi of Greece, who won the bronze. Percentages say she will win gold in Tokyo in 2020.
BTW, yesterday Little Rock’s Jeffrey Henderson, the Olympic gold medalist from Rio, won silver in the Long Jump.
