SIAP: Dan Enos isn't at Michigan any more

He’s joined the Ocean Scum staff.

That happened in January: http://www.wholehogsports.com/news/2018 … h-alabama/

I figured I’d missed it then, but I also figured I wasn’t the only one who did.

Three of Arkansas’ last four offensive coordinators are now in the SEC. Missouri hired Garrick McGee this week as an offensive analyst.

OT a little, but I figure you would know, there seems to be a lot of guys leaving the athletic department, most media related, some with moves up, some that don’t appear to be. Question, is this the new AD during fat, putting his guys in, or just normal attrition? I was use to it on Bielema’s staff, but not on Long’s.

There is always movement among SIDs. Most stay somewhere 3-5 years, then take another opportunity. Arkansas has lost three this year and all had family ties related to their move.

There has not been any movement among the senior AD or associate AD staff. From what I understand, Yurachek isn’t one to clean house to bring in his own people.

Everyone needs to be able to work to make a living. All of these assistants get paid well! Head coaches get insane salaries! It is out of control.

It is definitely out of control and will someday come to a screeching halt. There is no way to sustain the “arms races” with several assistants now making seven-figure incomes, especially if the student/athletes start getting paid. The haves may be able to keep up such outrageous contracts, but the have-nots won’t. Then again, we tend to value entertainment more than we do our military and first responders.

Pat Pierson’s move to Oregon was not a surprise. He was the communication director here and took a similar job at Orgeon. His long-time girl friend is from Eugene. Sarah worked at the newspaper here and I know her well. Her office was below mine in the old Times building in Fayetteville. As soon as that job opened at Oregon, I knew Pat would take it. Sarah didn’t leave him much choice! The new communication director is Kyle Parkinson. He’s from Yellville and his family still lives in Flippin. He’s a UA grad. His wife is a UA grad. He’s been at Vandy and is a great addition. I hated to lose Pat. I liked him a lot, but Kyle will be excellent. He grew up fishing Crooked Creek and the White River. Do you think he and I will share fishing stories? Yup.

I do not think Hunter Yurachek will run anyone off in the administration. That’s not his style. There will be normal attrition. I don’t think anyone in Jeff Long’s old team feels any pressure to scurry away. I think they all like Fayetteville and enjoy Yurachek’s leadership style. But, there are a lot of good people around on this staff and they will be hired away in some cases because they are good.

Very few people dislike living in Fayetteville. I hear that from coaches’ wives and from those who have worked here that sometimes move on for better positions. They look back on their Fayetteville time as something great. It’s not a surprise that’s it is always listed in the best places to live stories.

[/quote]Yep…we went to school there. wps.

This is true. One of the few people I remember hating it was Stan Heath’s wife. I love Fayetteville. It’s my favorite place in the world.
