Shocker?

MSU let Henderson go and hired the guy at Indiana. This might be old news but I just saw it. It wasn’t terribly surprising since thruout their post season run, there was no talk of signing GH, but still…guess I thought it would probably happen anyway.

The problem with Henderson while at Kentucky was he wasn’t a very good recruiter. For that reason he wasn’t given a shot at MSU and he will find it difficult to be a HC at D1 level.

That will make it hard for him to get a job period at a D-1 school! Recruiting is constant and never stops! He can coach and motivate.

That explains it. I wondered. It wasn’t like he took over late in the year and just road a hot streak, they got better right after he took over. BUT, if you can’t recruit, you can’t be a college head coach.

I went over to the Mississippi State website, “Elite Dawgs”. They are not happy with their new guy, whoever he is. They love their baseball. You gotta give em credit for their passion.

Lemonis is a good coach and recruiter. He helped assemble those CWS teams at Louisville and has won at Indiana, which is not easy.

Henderson was not going to get that job. MSU has a $55 million renovation to pay for through ticket sales. Henderson is a good pitching coach, but his head coaching background is just average.
