[/quote]they’ve had better results in football recently but they’ve also had coaching stability where we’ve had to recover from BP’s nuclear fallout. To say their program is better is a stretch. Given the instability of the lilxii & the strength of the SEC, I certainly wouldn’t trade places with them…would you?
I want us to win football games. There is too much focus in this football program (and basketball program) on things other than winning games.
We are in the SEC. So what? Sure, the prestige and money is there. But we still get our ass kicked in the second half by ex Big XII teams in A&M and Missouri, and by an ACC team in VT. Then, of course, there are the fairly regular ass kickings by SEC powers. We also have a football coach on signing day try to spin wins and losses to make us all feel good. Wade Phillips used to do the same thing with the Dallas Cowboys. Frustrating. And ridiculous.
Maybe there is hope, maybe there is not. But we all ought to zip it about SEC prestige and money until we start winning games and truly competing in the SEC. Without wins, not a lot of it really matters.
No true fan want’s to lose. But I’d prefer to rebuild & compete in the SEC rather than win at Okie Lite level. Just me
