I see the game as a toss up. Home field and a rattled freshman QB in an SEC environment is the difference. Arkansas 27, Cincy 24.
Really have no idea what to expect from Cincy other than playing hard and being well coached. They for sure have talent. I look for the Hogs to win a hard fought close games. Perhaps 35 - 31, but who knows what to expect.
Arkansas 42 - Borecats 27
Hogs are itching to hit someone. Win 37-14. Bearcats cry mercy.
I’m thinking along the lines of Hogs/Texas 2021. So, I’ll go 40-21.
Two days ago, the line on the game moved after 2 months stable at Hogs -7. Tuesday, it dropped to Hogs - 6.5 at both MGM and Caesars. I think the bettors are heading in the wrong direction.
The over-under has dropped from the original 54 to 52 the last month or so. Yesterday, Caesars dropped to 51.5.
Cincinnati should finish 11-1 this year with only loss to Ark. Their schedule looks pretty easy!!
I looked at their schedule last year and two games stand out. They beat Notre Dame at South Bend to give ND their only loss in regular season. Second, they lost to Alabama 27 - 6 in the playoffs. They had 9 draft picks so this is a totally different team. I put all of this information into my hopper and out comes:
UA 31
UC 24
Arkansas wins 34-20
Catalon has a pick 6 and defense forces 4 turnovers (2 fumbles and 2 Int’s)
Really concerned about our CBs ability to stay with Cinci’s speed. Combo that with a D line that will have it’s hands full with a very experienced and talented Cinci O line and that spells trouble.
Close game that will come down to the wire. Last minute field goal by Little saves us again. Hogs 31, Cinci 28.
Hogs 28 - Bearcats 17, Bearcats still not ready for SEC caliber play. WPS
Hogs 27
Cincy 20
24-23 Hogs
31-17 Hogs. Solid game 1 for our guys.
Notre Dame attempted 30+ passes and the RB had 17 rushing attempts. The Bearcats had one of the best DB squads in college football last season.
If Arkansas can establish a run game it’s a wrap. If not this game can and will be a low scoring nail-biter.
38 - 17 (with a effective run game)
First game offensive jitters in first quarter. Defense is solid, special teams solid. Running game gets going, opens up passing game.
33 - 16 Hogs
I agree, why play to their strength. Bama killed them running right at em.
Arkansas 41-31. No first game jitters. Deep WR corps. Experienced DBs and LBs. edit: forgot to mention the OL
bump
Two Cam Little field goals make the difference in a 27-21 win for the Hogs.
Probably seven points too many, but I say Hogs win 34-24. Kind of flying blind on this one, I usually like to wait til just before a game to make a prediction, but I doubt I’ll get a much better insight so might as well be now.
