Will students (be allowed/encouraged to) rush the court if we beat Auburn? On the one hand, it’s considered bush league, and self-respecting schools will say it’s beneath them. On the other hand, you only beat a No. 1 team in your building for the first time once. So if not then, when?
The SEC will fine Arkansas $250,000 if it happens.
Hopefully, the athletic department has already moved some money over for the fine because it’s happening.
I’m not saying it’s a small amount; I’m not saying I don’t understand the logic behind the safety element; but kids from ages 7 to 72 are going to be going Hog wild tonight.

No reason to rush a court with a National Championship banner hanging over the floor. We’ve been there before…and we will be again.

I know we’ve never beaten #1 at BWA, but we have spent time AS the #1 team there.
Beating the Tigers will not “make” our season. We are above that as a program

Yeah I suspect HY will have the cavalry in place to prevent a court storming tonight. $250K is serious business.
But I won’t be surprised if some people try.
When the students rushed the field against Texas last fall, Yurachek said he had a bad experience at Houston trying to keep students off the field. He said it led to students getting into scuffles with police and Landmark ushers, and was an ugly scene.
I understand that thought and for that reason he needs to do all he can to discourage it beforehand. Aside from the fact that this game is not as big a deal as beating Texas was at the time, we are just a better program than that. We have a national championship under our belt. We were an Elite 8 team just one year ago. This is Auburn. It’s not KY, UCLA or Duke. They’re a good team this year, but nothing more.
Regardless, there are real safety concerns when a crowd rushes a court. People get trampled to death when crowds surge forward. Several people died in a rock concert in Houston just a few months ago. We should NOT rush the floor. I won’t be surprised if it happens, but I’ll be disappointed if it does–and I sure hope no one is hurt.

While beating Auburn would be nice it’s not anything special. The hogs beat them twice last year! I hope our fans are loud and raise the roof but I sure hope some class is shown and they don’t rush the court!

I think it would add a sadness to auburn u and Pearl if we don’t rush the floor if we win.
However, It will be the Arkansas student section that will determine if we rush or not.
Hopefully they’re forewarned in case we do win.

Rushing the court would imply that we didn’t expect to win and would give Auburn way too much respect. I think it would be embarrassing.
