Lot of athleticism, looks to me like we are going to attack the rim hard and draw a lot of fouls and hopefully make the FT’s
Impressive athleticism on display. Really liked that Brazile pump fake and then knocking down corner 3. Thanks for posting,
Maybe the best and most unexpected play in that video was Mahki’s ankle breaking crossover dribble, in traffic ending in a dunk! About the 1:05-10 mark. A wow play!
Yes, it was a highlight video, but there were a lot of highlights available!
Nice find on the video and thanks for posting it Youda.
Yeah I was just surfing YouTube and saw it and I know everybody else was like me and want to see some action so I knew it would be worth sharing… I’m sure the team is going to have to go through a learning curve.but the talent potential is off the charts.
The twins looked good, Billy. There are no plodders on this team.
Yeah they are all very athletic… Walsh is coming along slower than I thought he would but I still believe he can be a major factor for us
As smooth as the team looked on offense I’m somewhat surprised by the low-scoring total.
I don’t think the shots were falling real well so that added to the lower scoring.
Remember, they were using the high school clock, just 8 minute quarters. 8 minutes less playing than the college clock.
True
Not saying it will happen, but Walsh might benefit from playing here 2 years. I know that’s not the plan, but he’s still a little raw.
Yeah I definitely think he needs to play 2 years. He just has to get stronger so he can withstand the contact of taking the ball as aggressively to the rim as he does… He needs to put on about 10 or 15 lb and work on that outside shot so he can inside outside you and then he is going to be a beast. I still think his defense will be a factor and he is aggressive attacking the rim I can see some put backs off the offensive glass as well
No doubt. He was one of the nicest kids I met this weekend. In time he’ll stop thinking so much and just attack. The talent is most definitely there, but he’s just not fluid…yet.
Yeah this is the first time he’s actually played against people a lot bigger than he is and he’s not used to having people knock him around.
I know it’s a big adjustment for a five star kid to kind of struggle like he is but I love his attitude, says whatever the coach wants me to do I will do it. We need a whole lot more people with attitudes like that and that in turn will allow him to be successful at some point in time
He will be. Not a doubt in my mind. I heard him mention somewhere that he is pump faking too much, and that’s true. He has to go up strong and finish thru contact, and he knows that.
I planned to post a thread earlier about my impressions of the kids after I met them all this weekend, but I got busy at the lot today. Gonna try to do it tomorrow.
Also, had drinks with Pat Bradley Saturday night (he paid ). It was cool picking his brain on this team and reminiscing about the good old days with The Bear. Pat is a great dude. Said he may move back to Arkansas.
Was fortunate enough to meet Pat once. Super nice guy and best men’s hoops analyst on SECN.
Yeah the shootah is one of my favorite Razorbacks!! You can tell he’s all Hog when he’s doing SEC network…
That will be cool, look forward to hearing what you think…
Wish I could post how he really feels about The Squid, but I won’t. Suffice it to say, his opinion is slightly different than Dykes’.
You just did (if it’s different than Dykes). Love it.
I know an exhibition inter squad game is all about putting on a nice show for the fans and recruits and that had to effect the defensive intensity a lot. There did not seem to be the defense that Muss takes great pride in on the court. Graham had a great game mostly with Brazille covering him on defense. It seems those two will duel for that stretch power forward role and it will probably come down to who plays the best defense will determine playing time. It looks like Smith and Black will play point & shooting guard (with some help from Ford and Pinion) and Council and Walsh will play the athletic and strong small forward role. The twins and Kamani will give lots of minutes and fouls for the big man rebounder role. Very long and athletic roster that looks like it is made to run. If Council or Walsh can hit some threes, one of them can move to shooting guard to spell Smith and Black. Right now, it looks like 3-point shooting will be our only weakness and there is potential for some to step up to meet that need. Can’t wait.
