How will the new staff affect the total number of recruits for the upcoming season. Is there any feel if any existing players will seek a transfer
There’s always the possibility, whether a new staff comes in or not, that kids will transfer seeking playing time. The names that keep coming up are Ty Storey and Cole Hedlund (whose brother kicked for Morris at SMU in 2015) but there could be others (and there is nothing definite that either one will actually leave). I have heard that Storey was definitely gone if BB was retained, but isn’t so sure now that we have a new staff. No idea if that is true either.
The limiting factor on our current class is the number of scholarships available under the 85 limit. The more people who transfer, the more scholarships open up.
I am not predicting where the slots will come from, but I expect this class to be close to 25.
Just my opinion.
I would believe some Olineman that have not played or been effective to get playing time may be down the road. It just appears we may watch 5 or 6 transfer.
I was told another board reported we only had eight scholly’s available after a number of walk-ons and grey shirts were awarded one after CBB was fired. I get there will be a number of players wanting out each year (especially with a new coach) but if that’s the case, CM will be the bad guy trying to restore balance to this class and getting his type players onboard. Can any of the mods confirm this?

I’m not a mod, but I don’t think Coach Rhoades would have the authority to do that as an interim. May be wrong, but would think the JCP would not allow that to happen. If it did, she should be held responsible because you can’t fire somebody who has been fired already. But I have my doubts because Lunney would have informed CM.
