Arkansas routed Ole Miss 4-0 last night in Orange Beach and will play 8-seed Florida on Thursday afternoon: http://www.wholehogsports.com/news/2018 … emifinals/
I watched the soccer game on SEC Network Tuesday night. I almost never complain about announcers, especially on SEC Network non revenue broadcasts, because you are usually getting the B or C team AND you’re getting announcers hired by the home team, They’re going to know more about whoever’s at home and they talk about what they know. You just accept a certain level of homerism and it’s really no big deal.
However, last night on the soccer game, it seemed that the announcers made almost no attempt to learn anything about Arkansas players for the broadcast. They talked endlessly about Ole Miss’ coach (who had gone to the same HS as the analyst), the Ole Miss “dangerous” front line who didn’t manage to score, and the Rebels freshman goalie, who’s best contribution I could see was yelling encouragement to her teammates after allowing each of the four goals Arkansas scored.
Hope they’re more prepared on Thursday and (hopefully) Sunday.
Florida, which beat us at Gainesville 3-0 last Thursday, beat conference regular season champ Vandy 1-0 yesterday after beating Auburn on penalty kicks in the first round. They’re still below .500 for the year but obviously playing much better of late.
winning fans and hopefully breaking the Aggie Gator dominance of late in the tournament
